Who we are

Ostronaut is a conversation intelligence platform for customer-facing teams, operated by Ankai Inc. This policy explains how we handle personal data across the Ostronaut website and product. Data handling specific to a customer deployment is set out in that customer’s commercial agreement, which prevails over this page where the two differ.

What we process

On the website: contact details you choose to give us (for example when you book a demo or email us) and basic, privacy-respecting analytics about how the site is used.

In the product: Rover captures customer conversations on behalf of our customers, and we process the resulting audio and the transcripts, speaker labels, and business events derived from it. For this data we act as a processor on the customer’s instructions; the customer is the controller.

Where your data lives

Customer audio and the data derived from it stay in India. Storage region is pinned at contract signing and does not move without the customer’s agreement.

Consent and retention

Every capture surface ships with a documented consent flow: signage for fixed-position hardware, opt-in for wearables, and a recording disclosure for software capture. Retention is configured per customer, with full purge available on request. PII redaction is context-configured per deployment.

Security

Audio is encrypted in transit and at rest, with access limited to the people and systems that need it. SOC 2 and ISO 27001 are on our roadmap. We do not operate covertly: no hidden microphones, no invisible consent flows.

Your rights

Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act you can ask to access, correct, or erase your personal data. End-consumer requests about data captured in a store route through the customer who operates that floor, and are honoured within the contracted timeframe.
